Erin Turner named Cuyahoga County regional director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio
Erin Turner, a nonprofit professional who has worked for the March of Dimes and The Salvation Army, has been named the Cuyahoga County regional director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio.
In her new role, Turner will oversee fundraising in Cleveland and its suburbs, including corporate giving and philanthropic relationships. She assumes the position left open by the retirement of Ron Soeder, who headed Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland before the merger forming BGCNEO.
Turner said she is excited about the Club’s mission and BGCNEO’s future.
“The Mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs really resonates with me,” Turner said. “It is a privilege to join this team and to be able to work each day to empower youth throughout Northeast Ohio.”
Prior to coming to BGCNEO, Turner was the Executive Director of Market Development at the March of Dimes and oversaw both the Northwest and Northeast Ohio markets. Before she worked at March of Dimes, she spent three years as the Director of Advancement for The Salvation Army of Greater Cleveland.
“We are extremely pleased to have Erin in the BGCNEO family,” said Jeff Scott, the organization’s CEO. “Her local nonprofit experience and passion for our work will be a plus for our kids.”
Turner said the guiding principles for her success in the nonprofit arena have been, “Learn, lead and serve.”
Turner and her husband, David, live in Strongsville with their three children, 14-year-old twin daughters Téa & Ava and 4-year-old son Declan. She enjoys attending her kids’ sporting events and attending Indians and Browns games.
BGCNEO provides safe, fun places for kids ages 6-18 after school with a focus on academic success, healthy lifestyles and character development. The organization was formed by the 2019 merger of Clubs in Cleveland, Akron, Lorain County and Sandusky and serves an average of 2,000 kids per day.
